Roadmaster Diode 7 to 6 Wire Coil Kit Installation - 2013 Lincoln MKX

Rob: Hey everybody, it's Rob here at etrailer.com and today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit on our 2013 Lincoln. Now, whenever you want to flat tow your Lincoln, it's going to be very important to have functioning lights back here, because whenever you're pulling with your motorhome, the car most likely is going to block and move with the tail lights. And when you have something behind you, whether it is a vehicle or a trailer, we got to have those lights so everyone around us knows what's going on. Whether we're driving down the highway and we need to change lanes, we're driving at night, all of those signals are very important to safety and making sure that we're staying legal. One of my favorite things about the diodes is the fact that it's not going to change the outward appearance of our Lincoln. Unlike those other kinds, we've all seen them, those magnetic lights, where usually you stick them to the top of the body somewhere, and then definitely we'll get those signals to the back. But that requires an extra step every time we hook up and we want to tow. more

Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit Installation - 2015 Lincoln MKX

Today on our 2015 Lincoln MKX, we're going to be installing Roadmaster's Universal Diode Wiring Kit with 7 to 6-wire straight cord. Part number RM-152-98146-7.This taillight wiring kit is going to provide you with all the necessary lighting you need at the back of your vehicle, so you can tow it behind your motor home and be DOT compliant in all states. It's going to give you your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps, and brake lamps. So, as you can see here, when I turn on my left turn signal in the motor home, it's also applying that left turn signal on our towed vehicle. The right signal also works as it should, as well as our brake lamps, and our tail lamps. It's permanently installed and hidden inside the vehicle, so you'll never even know that it's there. The diodes that connect into your circuitry keeps the motor home signals separate from your vehicle's circuitry, so you don't have to worry about any back-feeding causing any damage to your vehicle, and vice versa from your vehicle to your motor home. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Lincoln MKX, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster universal high power diode wiring kit, part number RM-152. Keep in mind this is only one component of our flat tow setup. You're gonna need a baseplate, tow bar, and a breaking system along with the tow bar wiring. Our diodes are gonna allow us to accept our motor home's light signals and transfer them to our Lincoln. That way, we can get down the road safely and everybody knows if we're gonna turn or if we're breaking and we slow down. Our diodes are gonna protect our Lincoln, making sure that there's no back feeding and if there is ever a problem on our motor home, it's not gonna affect the Lincoln at all. more

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Lincoln MKX we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Roadmaster Universal High Powered Diode Wiring Kit, part number RM-152. Now, to help us with our install we're also going to be using the Roadmaster Seven Wire to Six Wire Flex Pole Coil Kit, part number RM-146-7.Here's what our wiring looks like when it's fully installed. It's going to allow us to accept our RV lights and activate our Lincoln's lights in conjunction with that, so when we're flat towing our Lincoln down the road, people will know when we're slowing down, changing lanes, or anything because our lights will activate on the back at the same time they're activating on our RV. Now, our kit is going to come with a six way round plug at the front of your vehicle, and it's going to come with an umbilical cord to connect from your RV with a seven way end, and then six way round end for the vehicle. Now, our wiring kit is going to have some diodes, and they are going to stay right behind our taillights, and we are going to have to splice into our wires. The nice thing about our diodes is, is it's going to prevent any kind of feedback that we may have on the RV side from damaging the electrical components in our car. Now that we've gone over some of the features and we've seen what it looks like, let's show you how we got it installed.I took my loom and I went ahead and put it on the end of my four pole wire. more
